Tidewater Investments Limited is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange under the ASX code of TDI. The company is a specialist investor in "microcap" Australian listed securities (generally those capitalised at below $20 million), with an emphasis on financial services.
Tidewater has specialist management experience and expertise which it applies to the boutique funds management and financial services arenas through unlisted unit trusts and investment companies. Tidewater was originally listed in 2003 as Trent Capital Limited via a backdoor listing.
Since 2005, Tidewater has managed the Fat Prophets Australia Fund Limited which is a $45 million listed investment company. Tidewater currently has this management contract until at least 2010.
In 2007 it launched its first unlisted unit trust, the Tidewater Share Income Fund, and is establishing its own listed investment company. In November 2007, Tidewater also finalized the acquisition of Cheviot Bridge Asset Management Limited adding a $42 million portfolio of vineyard property to its assets under management as well as two staff adding to its strategic and tactical resources.
The total funds under management of the company at the end of December, 2007 were over $100 million.
